Every great journey starts with a moment of recognition and a pause in the middle of the grind that reminds you that you're doing something meaningful. For me, one of those moments came when VoyageLA reached out in 2021 to feature my story as a personal stylist based in Granada Hills. At the time, I was pouring everything I had into Fresh Start Image Consulting, helping men refine their personal style not just for image’s sake but for who they were becoming.
You can still read that original interview here:👉 VoyageLA Feature – Meet Patrick Lewis
Though that article feels like a lifetime ago, it laid the foundation for the work I do today. And in the spirit of transparency and growth, I want to revisit some of the key takeaways from that interview and expand on how my philosophy has evolved as I’ve continued to guide executives, athletes, and high-performing men into a more elevated version of themselves.
Fresh Starts Aren’t Just About Clothes They’re About Identity
When I spoke to VoyageLA, I emphasized how clothing has always been more than just fabric. It’s personal. It's legacy. It's how we enter rooms, how we demand respect without saying a word. That belief hasn’t changed, but it’s deepened.
Today, Fresh Start is more than a styling service. It's a strategic image consulting brand. We coach men on curating an executive presence that aligns with their ambitions. We build wardrobes, yes but we also rebuild confidence.
My Father’s Legacy Still Guides the Vision
In the interview, I mentioned my father, a man I never got to meet but who left behind an unforgettable imprint through his style and reputation. People still tell me how sharply he dressed and how intentional he was about his appearance.
That legacy is now woven into everything I do. When I style a client, I’m not just putting together an outfit I’m helping them walk in the same kind of quiet power my father had. It’s about legacy dressing. And that mindset has transformed how I approach every consultation.
From Granada Hills to the Global Stage
When VoyageLA interviewed me, I was rooted in LA, building one relationship at a time. Today, my work has expanded far beyond city limits. I’ve styled men across the country, hosted executive workshops, been invited into Fortune 500 boardrooms, and consulted athletes prepping for the draft.
But no matter where I go, that Houston/LA foundation......its culture, boldness, and blend of street and sophistication.....stays with me. It’s part of my creative makeup.
The Style Mindset Is a Muscle
One thing I’ve learned since that article? Style is not about money—it’s about mindset. You can wear a $2000 jacket and still look unsure of yourself. Or you can put on a $200 blazer with the right fit and the right attitude and look like you belong in every room you enter.
That’s what I teach now. Confidence isn’t found at checkout it’s built through consistency, clarity, and vision. Every man has a high-value version of himself waiting to emerge. Style is just the door.
Legacy Content Still Has Purpose
We’re reposting this reflection today not just to pay homage to an interview that changed the course of my journey but also to remind every man reading this that his story matters, even the "old" parts. The past is never wasted when you use it as a stepping stone toward evolution.
That article may have been written years ago, but it still attracts people to my work, introduces men to a better version of themselves, and reminds me never to forget where this started.
The Invitation Still Stands
If you’re reading this now and wondering what a fresh start would look like for you, whether it’s in your wardrobe, your leadership presence, or how you show up in life, consider this your sign.
We don’t just style. We sculpt confidence. We align image with identity. We build legacies from the outside in.
Thank you to VoyageLA for seeing me back then. And thank you to everyone who’s trusted me since to walk with them into their next season.
Your fresh start is one decision away.
